And Support Them
Having read several judges’ critiques of late, bemoaning the current state of the breed, I must admit I was prepared for the worst. So it was a pleasant surprise to find that really things are not so bad. Being able to do both sexes, gives one a better overall view. I certainly found many excellent Rottweilers. We have always had better bitches numerically than dogs, & this still seems to be the case, giving me some difficult decisions to make in junior, PG, Limit & Open. With rivalry not so great in the dogs, the good ones stand out & I’m pleased to say that there were enough fine specimens. I was delighted with my principle winners (RCCs, CCs & BP) & would have happily taken anyone of them home. Both CC winners gained their titles today, although for the life of me I cannot understand why Freddie Flintoff is not already a multiple ticket winner, he’s one of the best. Finally I found generally improved shoulder angulation at last. On the down side there were too many mouth faults, mainly level bites & these I penalised by not placing them. I was encouraged to see breeders taking advantage of the European bloodlines now available here via certain forward thinking kennels & the resulting progeny doing well. A very nice entry.
