And Support Them
DOGS – I was very pleased with my winners but the overall quality of the dogs was not good. Dentition was poor with too many level bites & dirty teeth.
Movement was also disappointing. Many had flat feet & were crabbing which I put down to lack of fitness.
There was far too much use of bait, both in the hand & being thrown around the ring – the handling in our breed used to be the envy of other breeds but was sadly lacking here. Some ringcraft classes wouldn’t go amiss!
MP (11,2a) 1 Perks’ Dromnagus Breakin All Rules, nice puppy with conformation, good pleasing head, dark eye, correct dentition. Loose movement but moved well in profile due to good angulation; 2 Perks’ Dromnagus All Systems Go, promising puppy, similar in type. Movement looser than 1; 3 Hawkshaw’s Jezeve Timelord.
P (6) 1 Watts & Gibbard’s Kezeve Gob Stopper, very little between these two litter brothers, both a good size & well balanced with correct angulation & pleasing heads. This puppy moved well in profile; 2 Trueman & Brownridge’s Jezeve Sherbet, promising puppy. Movement needs to tighten; 3 D All Systems Go.
J (5) 1 Tuttle’s Rostock Ice Warrior, upstanding young dog, well balanced, pleasing head, good ear set & expression, straight front, body well developed for age, good bone, correct rear angulation used well on the move; 2 Howell’s Patragarth Captain Jack of Overfinch, medium size dog, pleasing head, dark eye, well set ears, straight front, good rear angulation. Didn’t move with as much drive as 1; 3 Forster’s Megalmar Lieutenant Gruber.
Y (9,1) 1 Fuller’s Wolfbass Akino at Kylamie, well balanced, good bone, clean head, pleasing expression, neat ears, dark eye, correct tan, well developed front, laid back shoulders, good topline, strong rear action on the move; 2 Dunhill’s Fantasa Punk Rock, big strong dog, good bone, correct head proportions, dark eye, well placed ears, well developed body, promising dog; 3 Marker’s Sundrifters Making Money.
G(6,1) 1 Perks’ Dromnagus The Full Monty, overall a well balanced dog, clean head, good earset & expression, correct front, well placed shoulders, level topline, good rear angulation used well on the move; 2 M Lieutenant Gruber, nice dog, pleasing head, dark eye, neat earset. Nice front spoilt by splayed toes. Movement erratic, better in profile; 3 Reid’s Trecealy Nemesis.
PG (9) 1 Leask’s Varenka Maximillion at Granjolea, smart dog who caught the eye, well balanced, good bone, correctly proportioned head, dark eye, good earset, well laid back shoulder, level topline, good spring of rib, moved confidently; 2 Steel’s Rougeau Benno to Upend, very typy dog, good overall balance, well off for bone, tight front, strong feet. Would have preferred more leg; 3 Allen’s Hikay’s The Monster Is Loose at Jodipas.
L (14,2) 1 Gibson’s Dominatus James Dean Diester, a dog with a lot of presence who immediately caught the eye, well proportioned all round, strong front, good angulation, good reach of neck, nicely placed shoulders, correct rear angulation, held topline well on the move. RCC; 2 Murphy’s Jezeve Captain Sensible, well balanced, nice outline, well off for bone, balanced head, good expression. Lacked the presence of 1; 3 Ledger’s Juffther Souls On Fire at Aljamalynne.
O (12,4) 1 Lockyer’s Guardami Pal Joey, caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring with his presence & I was pleased to find that on close inspection he lived up to my expectations. Excellent head & expression, well proportioned body, level topline kept well as he powered around the ring, by far the best mover of the day. CC & BOB; 2 Monk & Drabble’s Ch Olearia Blaze Of Gold, quality dog in a strong class. Well balanced head, dark eyes, good expression, held topline well on the move. Preferred movement of 1; 3 Shaves & Kelly’s Ch Estalea Rainbow Levi. V (3) 1 Ellis’ Abuklea Catch Us If You Can at Falkor, big strong dog who didn’t show his age when moving strongly around the ring. Still in excellent condition. BV; 2 Dean & Trow’s Abuklea Play With Fire, nice dog, moved well for age but not carrying enough weight; 3 Robertson’s Ryckamie Fantasy Moonquest.
