And Support Them
My entry of 112 dogs 132 entries was very pleasing considering the economic climate & remembering this was a Friday when most people have to work.
My overall observation of the breed was that the breed is looking good but I had too many level bites for my liking & also too many dogs who were crabbing which really stopped some good looking dogs winning higher awards but the overall temperaments were very good with only 3 talkers which were kept in check by their owners. My BOB was the dog Ch Rottalma Tawney Emperor at Bearwithme, who showed excellently for me & for the group judge where he was shortlisted into the last 8 & complimented by the group judge as he said of the high standard he had in the last 8. BOS was Alldenria Dark Jewel at Kanesbrook, a very classy bitch who was one of the best movers on the day. BP was a handsome boy of 11 months, Salonga The Chaser, a very well made youngster who never put a foot wrong.
MPD (8) 1 Rowarth’s Westlodge The Magician at Darkarmar, 8 months, a very well made boy of good balance, well marked with a good head, a pleasing soft expression, good dark eye & correct dentition, he flows well out of neck into a very good topline, good quarters, strode out well & covered the ground with ease moving straight both ways; 2 Dimbley’s Valenstar Viper, 8½ months, not quite the substance of 1 but he is nicely marked, a good reach on neck with a very promising forechest, correct tight feet, moved well & went straight; 3 Rudden & Scott’s Tiesto Beyond Limiits.
PD (5) 1 Jacobs’ Salonga The Chaser, 11 months, an excellent puppy with a handsome soft expression, very well marked with a good head, nice dark eye, correct dentition, correct ear carriage, nice front, very good topline & tailset, strong quarters with tight feet, strode out well & never put a foot wrong with his effortless movement. BP; 2 Watts & Gibbard’s Jezeve Paris, 11 months, in age there was nothing between the first two places, a very well made youngster who moved very well & I feel they will change places many times over the years; 3 Hopgood’s Saint Lythans Moonwalker.
JD (4) 1 Watts & Gibbard’s Jezeve Gob Stopper, pleasing expression, correct eye shape & colour, good earset but he did fly them a little when moving. Very well balanced in body with good clean lines & nothing is overdone, has the tightest of feet with good hocks, moved extremely well covering the ground with ease with a nice easy pace, caught my eye when he moved with the rest at the beginning of the class & moved just as well when I put him through his paces; 2 Benstead’s Carsal Gringo, well made youngster who impressed me with how he moved, slightly straight in stifle or it could have been the way she had him stood, also had a good forechest & was well balanced. Just lost out on ring presence; 3 Davis & Hopgood’s Saint Lythans Waldermar.
YD (3,1a) 1 Trueman & Brownridge’s Jezeve Sherbet, very clean in head & neck which flows into a good topline, handsome looking boy with a kind expression, good eye & ear sets & a good forechest, nicely marked, well balanced in body & good angulations in stifle, moved very well driving all the time & carrying his topline well, did everything I asked of him & did it well. Was giving too much away in age when I placed him reserve in the next class but his time will come; 2 Cockerill’s Alkido’s Blaine, played up quite a bit & was a real handful, was distracted from something outside the ring & it really put him off his stride. When paying attention he did move well but overall I would have liked him a bit bigger & less sooty in the markings, he has been slow to mature & needs time to develop.
GD (6) 1 Taylor’s Darkarmar Rex, good in head with a very pleasing expression, he was almost laughing, a very happy looking boy who looked like he was enjoying himself, has an excellent temperament that everyone should be looking for in our breed, good dentition, nice dark eye with a good earset, flows well out of neck into a good topline & when allowed to freestand shows just how well his angulations are, when stretched he can be made to look to long when he is not. Moved really well covering the ground with ease & beat an excellent dog to get his first prize; 2 Lewis & Johnson’s Pendley Gregory, good head with a medium to dark eye, good ear carriage, good topline with powerful quarters & good angulations in his strong stifles & hocks, when he moved he strode out well but in a bit of a hurry like a dog on a mission & looked like he could have run all day. A very close 2nd & I feel these two will swap places many times; 3 Rowarth’s Darkarmar Curved Air.
PGD (9,1) 1 Richman & Gatehouse’s Pretohawk Murphy’s Law For Shamrotts, very clean in outline & looked good in profile, beautiful head with a very kind expression, pleasing on the eye he has a good head with good dentition & beautiful pigmentation which a few were lacking, strong neck & appears strong throughout with good bone, tight feet & excellent quarters, very well balanced throughout & it showed when he moved, his easy free style was a pleasure to watch, he won an excellent class & should feel proud of his achievement; 2 MacKenzie’s Varenka Bring It Home To Tysar, looks good in profile but doesn’t have the bone of 1 but he does have the class of 1 & it wasn’t easy to split them, he also is very well balanced, good head with no faults & his expression was stern but friendly, moved well covering the ground without any problems; 3 Allen’s Hikays The Monster Is Loose at Jodipas.
MLD (3) 1 Dean & Trow’s Abuklea Man On The Moon, everything you are looking for in a male, good head that is correct throughout, beautiful neck going into level topline, powerful quarters, good feet & moved without any problems, in profile he looks the part & he won this class at a canter; 2 Tutt’s Ronmal The Sentinel at Norottix, the body on this boy was fine but the head is weak & needs time to develop. We must remember he was giving a lot away in age so his time could come & I hope it does because his temperament was sound; 3 Lee’s Vanhirsch Dark Bronson avec Leebee.
LD (6) 1 Fallon’s Angelfire King For A Day, good head with a beautiful eye, lovely ear carriage, pleasant expression, correct dentition with good pigmentation, strong front with good shoulders, good reach of neck, level topline with a good tailset, good powerful hocks that drove him around the ring with ease & at all times he held his topline, so well balanced he really looks the part & is very fit, appears to be a dog who works with how fit he is. RBD; 2 Willison’s Jhava Montague of Shantasia, came very close to 1 but just lacks the head of 1, pleasing head which is correct throughout as was the body, a very well built boy where, just like 1, nothing is overdone, well balanced with a good topline with excellent angulations, moved very well & never put a foot wrong, close between the first two & hard to split them; 3 Ledger’s Juffther Souls On Fire at Aljamalynne.
OD (8,2) 1 Davis’ Ch Rottalmatawney Emperor at Bearwithme, very well balanced with a beautiful expression, very good toplines with correct angulations, very well balanced in the body with nothing underdone, a powerful boy with strong, very well muscled quarters showing that this boy works & is super fit, when he moved he went as straight as an arrow & never put a foot wrong as he powered around the ring, looked like he could go all day, he was the best mover in the class & worked hard for his win. BOB; 2 Willison & Barnes’ Ch Guardami Pal Joey, handsome looking boy with a kind look about him, well made with nothing overdone, a very good head with everything correct about it, balanced throughout & has good lines. Could have moved quicker but it was a very hot day so that could have been the problem; 3 Vanson’s Ch Poncheens Black Charmer at Tiesto.
MPB (8,1) 1 Jones’ Poncheens Irresistible, very good head with a very feminine, sweet expression, correct dark eye, her head is beautifully balanced & so is the puppy throughout, lovely front, tight feet, correct in stifle & hocks, well marked, moved very well which got her this very strong class & was well handled; 2 Vanson’s Tiesto Above And Beyond, very much like 1 with good markings, tight feet, correct eye & earset, good pigmentation & correct dentition, very well balanced in body & one who never put a foot wrong on the move, this was one of the few handlers who used all of the ring which was a pleasure to see & it gives the exhibit more chance of winning providing it can move correctly in the first place; 3 Cox’s Heldenhauss Moulin Rouge.
PB (7) 1 Starr’s Jezeve Timeless of Stellina, won one of the strongest classes I judged, I did not find one puppy who had any noticeable faults making this a very enjoyable class to judge, she is very feminine with correct proportions, good markings, a good front with tight feet, strode out very well & kept a straight line throughout, was the last one to go in this class & she stole that moment to stay in my mind as I was placing. BPB; 2 Fuller’s Kylamie Perdita, 9 months, nicely made with a good head, pleasing expression, correct throughout in head, she has a nice length of neck which flows into a extremely good topline for one so young, on the move she goes very well & holds her topline at all times & stands like a statue when she is in profile. Only lost out on maturity to an excellent winner, she did nothing wrong whatsoever & neither did 1; 3 Hammett’s Poncheens Mona Lisa at Brodecs.
JB (9,2) 1 Clark’s Dortmund Delightful Dotty, pleasing to the eye in profile, stands well & looks good, has a beautiful feminine head & the sweetest of expressions, correct dentition, good pigmentation, lovely ear carriage, nice reach of neck into a good topline, correct in stifle, very well balanced & moved very well; 2 Borne’s Dortmund Upsy Daisy, very nicely made with a good reach of neck, nice straight front, good topline with good angulations in stifles, good tight feet, good head with a nice dark eye, correct dentition, moved well holding a straight line & just missed out to her litter sister on small points that will soon sort themselves out; 3 Richman & Gatehouse’s Shamrotts Ms Dynamite.
YB (5,1) 1 Lane Ranson’s Danjerries Diamond Star, nicely made with a good forechest, nice head, inquisitive expression, good dark eye, nice earset, good topline, tight feet, she took off to run her triangle like a bullet from a gun, it was so fast I had to ask her to do it again but slower, this time showed me just how straight & true she can run, best mover in this class; 2 Hopgood’s Saint Lythans Louise, giving a lot away in this class as regards age. Nicely made & correctly marked, pleasing head & expression, nice reach of neck & a good topline, nicely put together & moved OK; 3 Pike’s Poncheens Artemis.
GB (3,1) 1 Weber’s Warrimead Oxanna, nicely made girl of good proportions with nothing over done, correct dentition, a lovely shaped head with a good stop, good ear & eye placements, nice reach of neck which went into a beautiful topline with no roll or overload on the withers which a few did have, has nice angulations in the stifles & excellent tight feet, her overall conformation was excellent, moved extremely well & looked really good going & coming, was a pleasure to judge; 2 S L Louise.
PGB (5,1) 1 Fenwick’s Schutzer Flossie at Ruiz, very pretty bitch with a beautiful expression, pleasing head, good dentition, correct pigmentation, well made but still keeps her femininity about her, good forechest, nice straight front, good rear with correct angulations in stifles & hocks, best mover in the class striding out well & doing everything I asked of her; 2 Turnbull’s Westlodge Semillion, not much between the first two. Slightly longer & she didn’t move with the same zest as 1 with her head dropping slightly but having said that she is also a very feminine bitch who is nicely marked with a good head & topline, & very clean in profile, good quarters & nice tight feet; 3 Brennan’s Travillons Maisie Magic.
MLB (6,1) 1 Clark’s Dortmund Dress To Impress, very well balanced even though she’s not the biggest of bitches, good front with tight feet, pleasing head, kind expression, good neck, flowing into a very good topline, well marked, moved out well & was very straight coming back, overall a very nice bitch; 2 Dean & Dunhill-Hall’s Fantasa Rock In Motion, nicely marked & well balanced with good proportions, very feminine with a soft expression which I like, has a good front, a nice reach of neck, good topline & good tailset, nice tight feet & stands foursquare. She did mess the handler about a bit but he overcame her little game; 3 Benstead’s Carsal Effie.
LB (14,3) 1 Bond’s Alldenria Dark Jewel at Kanesbrook, this girl won the biggest class, very feminine bitch with a good head & a beautiful dark eye, correct dentition, her expression is one of trying to please, nicely marked, good reach of neck going into a good topline, excellent quarters, she moved with ease & was as straight as an arrow on the move, in profile her stifles & hocks are perfect & her powerful hocks made going around the ring look so easy, I think the excellent handler made this part look easy for her, pushed hard in the challenge for BOB but was beaten by a much older, excellent dog. BB; 2 Vanson’s Poncheens Mythical Vixen, well balanced girl who was very fit & moved really well, beautiful head, good ear carriage, good dark eyes, good front with nice forechest, withers could be cleaner but a beautiful topline & her quarters were strong with good angulations in the rear, tight feet & she is beautifully marked, she is a really sound bitch who is very well muscled; 3 Peffers’ Roxellia Champerea Chic.
OB (11,2) 1 Lewis’ Riviere De Diamant avec Firemoon, very nice looking bitch with good lines, good forechest, good tan, correct in topline, very well marked with a beautiful tan, she moved really well & never put a foot wrong to win this class, good tight feet & good stifles, hocks made her look a picture in profile & on the move. RBB; 2 Willison’s Firemoon Three Times A Lady at Shantasia, very nicely marked with a very feminine head, good eye & earset, correct dentition, looks good in profile & also on the move, there was not much between the first two they are both feminine, both moved really well & I found it quite difficult to split them. 1 was slightly cleaner in the withers; 3 Bramwell & Brooks’ Paloduro Lady Madonna.
